1941 World Championship- Bensinger's Billiards in Chicago, IL

This tournament may be regarded as one of the grandest gatherings of talent ever.  The tournament was held in one of the all time greatest tournament venues, Bensinger's Billiard Academy in downtown Chicago.  Bensinger's was know world-wide as apremier room for 3 cushion billiards.  Top players from all over came there to test their game against Chicago's best (who were also some of the best players in the country at the time).  Bensinger's was host to hundreds of national and world class tournaments.

We would like to gather some personal stories and unique images from this event.  We currently have what is maybe the largest collection of news clippings, promotional materials, and tournament pictures from this event.  If you have anything you would like to contribute, your help will be appreciated and your contributions cited.  Anything from news clippings, pictures, postcards, or even a story can all be used in this project, and a high resolution scan will suffice, so there is no need to send an original unless you want us to scan it and return it to you. 

Reporting format is a round robin bracket where every player plays each of the other players once. Read bracket sheet across from a player's last name. Games were to 50 points, so a 50 on the scoresheet indicates a win. Numbers in red indicate a loss, and the number is the actual number of points scored against the winning player.
